Liveball

Liveball is the king of the court game that is found throughout Los Angeles. In a million varieties, all claiming to be the best. We think ours is pretty good. We take the tennis seriously but not ourselves.

-The instructor will determine your level. Contact us if you are unsure about which class to join. It’s no fun for you (or anyone else) if you are in a class that’s the wrong level for you.

-You can play down, but you cannot join a higher level class without instructor approval.

-9 Person Maximum. We don’t want you spending all your time in line, huge classes are no fun for anyone.

Liveball has become a trend and a community. We want you to play, get a workout, make some new friends and keep improving to move up to the next class.

Rules of Liveball:

90 Minute King of the Court Game. The only breaks are to pick up balls.

Doubles format, each side starts the round with one up one back. Two people on the champion side, everyone else on the challenger side. The challengers must win 4 points before the champions win 2 to take their place.

The instructor calls a shot for each basket, starting with forehand crosscourt, so at 0-0 the first shot has to be a forehand and must go crosscourt.

- If you miss the first shot, you go straight to the back of the line of the same side.

- If you hit a clean winner (it is not touched), proceed directly to the champion’s side.

- It goes in, play out the point.

- The first shot may not be poached (with the exception of the very first point when the challengers are running to the champion side.)

Following that, the instructor will feed the ball the moment the point ends to either player on the challenger side.

If challengers reach 4 points first, they have a 3 second countdown to make it to the other side.

If champions win 2 points first, the challengers rotate to the other line and two new players come in.

If a ball rolls in your way, you must ask the instructor to hold before he has fed the next ball. Take care of each other and help clear the balls as you go.
